1 Kings 18:21 “And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him.”
If this prophet of God were with us today, then he could very well ask this same question to our generation. Our generation is one giant melting pot of all sorts of different belief systems. Part of this belief system, is a range of traditions and celebrations that take place around this time of the year on a day that we like to call today “Christmas.” This day has since become the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Many churches around the world have come to embrace this celebration. In many churches, especially the Catholic Church, they will hold “midnight masses” on Christmas Eve in honor of the Nativity of Jesus. But is any of this Biblical? Is Christmas Christian in nature? What does the term “Merry Christmas” and the symbols in this holiday mean? Where did Santa Claus come from and what does he represent? Join me as we explore the answer to these questions, and much more.
